The American Health Assistance Foundation (AHAF) is committed to funding research on Alzheimer’s disease, age-related macular degeneration and glaucoma. Through our three programs, Alzheimer's Disease Research (ADR), Macular Degeneration Research (MDR) and National Glaucoma Research (NGR), we support scientists seeking cures for these debilitating, age-related diseases.
The second, equally important aspect of the AHAF mission is public outreach. We inform those directly affected, their caregivers and the general public about a wide array of issues related to these three diseases. We publish a variety of booklets, brochures, articles and newsletters with research updates, as well as information on prevention, healthy lifestyles, diagnosis, treatment and coping strategies. We produce Public Service Advertisements (PSAs) for TV and radio which can also be viewed on this site. The up-to-date, comprehensive information on our website makes it a valuable resource for the public and the media.
We encourage journalists to assist us in our mission by freely using all of our publicly available information. Please credit AHAF and if appropriate, the particular program, ADR, MDR or NGR, as a source. More on our content usage policy can be found here.
