After an extensive nationwide executive search, the Board of Directors of the American Health Assistance Foundation (AHAF) has appointed Stacy Pagos Haller as its new President and Chief Executive Officer. The American Health Assistance Foundation is a leading charitable nonprofit organization that funds research in the areas of Alzheimer’s disease, age-related macular degeneration and glaucoma. Ms. Haller arrives at this leadership position with more than 25 years of experience working with major non-profit institutions across the country.

“Ms. Haller is the consummate non-profit leader with an exemplary track record and she brings a rich body of experience to the American Health Assistance Foundation,” says Dr. Brian Regan, Chairman of the AHAF Board of Directors.

“In these rapidly changing times, the Foundation and its Board of Directors are extremely confident that we have selected the very best person to lead our organization’s campaign against age-related diseases. She has exactly the requisite skill set and knowledge base to successfully direct the American Health Assistance Foundation’s expanded funding and research efforts going forward,” Dr. Regan added.

In accepting this exciting appointment, Ms. Haller stated, “This is a lifetime professional opportunity to make a profound difference for our society and to assist the millions of aging citizens who suffer from harsh degenerative diseases. I am struck by the research going on and the information breakthroughs now occurring with Alzheimer’s and the degenerative vision diseases, and how the American Health Assistance Foundation has been on the forefront of funding these innovative research efforts.”

“I plan to enthusiastically build on the successful approach relied on by the American Health Assistance Foundation board and its extremely able staff in recent years. AHAF is fighting some of the most important battles on the frontiers of medicine,” Ms. Haller further commented.

Ms. Haller succeeded Kathleen Honaker, who served as the Executive Director of the Foundation since 2004. Before that she was the organization’s Director of Development for 12 years before announcing her plans to retire. Stacy Haller began her duties on January 1, 2010.

Ms. Haller brings executive experience working with educational institutions and a wide variety of major non-profit organizations on innovative strategic plans, large-scale capital and fundraising campaigns, and board leadership development. Her combined fund raising efforts have resulted in over $400 million being raised for these not-for-profit institutions.
