Donna Callison, Vice President of Development

Donna Callison, Vice President of Development

Donna Callison is the Vice President of Development for the American Health Assistance Foundation (AHAF). Callison leads the fundraising strategies for the organization including individual giving, direct response marketing and planned giving.

Callison brings over 25 years of direct response marketing experience for both non-profit and for-profit organizations including Lawrence Direct Marketing, Inc., Equifax, R.L. Polk & Company and U.S. News and World Report.

Callison holds a Bachelor of Arts from Transylvania University.

Guy Eakin, Ph.D., Vice President of Scientific Affairs

Guy Eakin, Ph.D., Vice President of Scientific Affairs

Guy Eakin is the Vice President of Scientific Affairs at the American Health Assistance Foundation (AHAF). Eakin leads the foundation's efforts to identify promising and innovative research, and works to ensure continued research progress in each of the over 100 active research projects throughout the world.

Prior to coming to AHAF, Eakin worked in medical research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, and at the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. During his research career, he has studied and developed new ways of visualizing complex microscopic events in living cells and animals.

Eakin holds a Ph.D. in Developmental Biology from Baylor College of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Indiana University. He previously served on the board of directors of the Grants Managers Network, a 2000-member organization committed to best practices in grants management.

Dave Marks, Vice President of Finance and Administration

Dave Marks, Vice President of Finance and Administration

Dave Marks serves as the American Health Assistance Foundation (AHAF) Vice President for Finance and Administration. In that capacity, he oversees the accounting, financial and business operations for AHAF.

With over 25 years of corporate managerial accounting experience, Marks served as Assistant Controller at The Cosmetic Center, Inc., prior to joining AHAF in 1998. Before that he served in several positions in the accounting department at Dart Drug Stores. Marks' earlier service includes Crown Books Corporation and Vie de France Corporation.

Marks received a BS in Business Administration from Drexel University in 1983. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA).

Melissa May, M.A., APR, Vice President of Marketing and Communications

Melissa May, M.A., A.P.R., Vice President Marketing and Communications

Melissa May is the Vice President of Communications and Marketing for the American Health Assistance Foundation. May directs all internal and external communications for the organization including the website, social media, policy guidance, and public education.

May is an international health communications veteran with leadership positions at the Population Council and PATH. She was an adjunct professor of public relations at New York University and has directed marketing efforts for several companies including AirTouch Cellular (now Verizon Wireless) and Airborne Express (now DHL).

May is a graduate of Purdue University and holds a Master of Arts in public relations from the University of Texas. She has an APR accreditation from the Public Relations Society of America.
