The American Health Assistance Foundation, the American Heart Association, the Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind, and the Asbury Methodist Village are partnering to host the Mini Health Fair and Workshops. Join us for free eye screenings, cooking demonstrations, a nutrition workshop and more.

Dr. Jacque Duncan of the University of California, San Francisco will be giving a macular degeneration presentation, and the Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind will present the "Tools for Learning to Cope with Your Vision Loss" workshop. The nutrition workshop and cooking demonstrations will be presented by Linda Thompson, licensed nutritionist.

There will also be a screening of the HBO Documentary, The Alzheimer's Project: Momentum in Science (Part 2), with a presentation by Dr. Guy Eakin, the American Health Assistance Foundation's Director of Research Grants.

  • 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.: Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind Presentation/Workshop "Tools for Learning to Cope with Your Vision Loss."

Health and Wellness Partnership Advisory Committee
Purpose: Examine strategies and make recommendations to Administration regarding programs which may assist residents in changing their behavior, encouraging them to adopt lifelong habits that will improve their health.
