How to increase the font size
Netscape:
- Go to the edit menu and choose 'Preferences.'
- A window will open up. On the left side of the window, click once on the word 'Fonts,' which is found under the 'Appearance' heading.
- Then, on the right side of the window, select a font size.
- Click on the 'O.K.' button.
- If the selections that you made are not adequate, then repeat steps 1- 4 and try other settings for the font sizes in step 3.

Internet Explorer:
- Select 'Fonts' or 'Text Size.'
- Then choose between the following choices - 'Smallest', 'Smaller', 'Medium', 'Larger', and 'Largest.'

Firefox:
- Go to the View menu and choose 'Text Size.'
- If the selections that you made are not adequate, then repeat the first two steps until the text is large enough.
- An alternative is to hold down the Control key (Ctrl) and hit the plus key until the text is the correct size. Ctrl and the minus key decreases text size.

How to change the color of the background and the text
Netscape
- Go to the edit menu and choose 'Preferences.'
- A window will open up. On the left side of the window, click once on the word 'Colors,' which is found under the 'Appearance' heading.
- Then, on the right side of the window, you can select the colors for the text, background, and links. If, for example, you prefer a black background with white text, click inside the button that is next to the word 'Text.' This will open up a window that allows you to click on the color that you want. Do the same for the button next to the word 'Background.' If you have a dark colored background, it will important to choose light colors for the link options.
- Finally, click in the check-box that says, 'Always use my colors, overriding document' and then click the 'O.K.' button.

Internet Explorer
- On the menu bar, go to 'View' (ver 5.X) or 'Tools' (ver 6.X) and click on 'Internet Options.'
- Towards the bottom of the window that opens up you will see a button that says 'Colors...'. Click on this and another window will open up.
- There is a left and right side to this window. On the left side, there is a box that is checked that says, 'Use Windows' colors'. Uncheck this box.
- This will now activate the text and background buttons. Click inside the button that is next to the word 'Text.' This will open up a window that allows you to click on the color that you want. Do the same for the button next to the word 'Background.'If you have a dark colored background, it will be important to choose light colors for the link options, which are located on the right side of the window.
- Click on the 'O.K.' button that is located in this window. The window will close. Then, click on the 'O.K.' button that is located at the bottom of the remaining window.

- On the menu bar, choose 'Tools' and then 'Options.'
- Choose the 'Content' tab on the window that opens.
- Look for a button called 'Colors.'
- When you click on the button, you will have options to change the text, background, and link colors.
