Have a Personal Low Vision Program Developed

If you live alone or don’t ordinarily have other people nearby to assist you, a low vision therapist can design a program for you with this in mind. The emphasis of your training should be on thse activities that are important to you, such as reading the mail, being able to write checks and pay bills and being able to read the labels on medicine bottles.

When you talk with your therapist, be as specific as possible about the activities you need help with, including hobbies and other sources of pleasure that are important to you. The next steps in your visual rehabilitation will be to learn about optical devices that are available and how to use them.
