2008 Grant Application Request

Alzheimer's Disease Research grant applications for Standard awards, Pilot Project awards or Research Fellowships focusing on basic science are available for viewing, printing, and downloading in Adobe's portable document format (PDF). You need Adobe Reader on your computer to access the PDF version.

If you do not have the Acrobat Reader, you may download a free copy from Adobe. When viewed or printed with Acrobat Reader, the document appears as it does in the hardcopy version. Adobe also makes a product that is not free called Acrobat that will allow you to save a copy of the PDF file and make permanent changes to the text fields. If you have difficulty accessing the PDF document, please call our grants administrator at (301) 948-3244.

Adobe has a free online tool that will convert the PDF file to HTML and allow you to view the document; unfortunately, it will not render the file in a format that is suitable for submission to our organization.

Original signatures are required on all applications and therefore original applications must be mailed back to us.

The deadline for receipt of Standard, Pilot or Fellowship applications is on October 11, 2007 .

Alzeimer's Disease Research met its FY2007 application deadline. As such, we are no longer accepting research proposals for FY2007 funding.

FY2008 application instructions and forms will be made available on this webpage in the early summer of 2007. All inquiries may be directed to grants@ahaf.org

Very important! The PDF version of our application now allows you to fill out most of the grant application on the computer using Acrobat Reader. However, please note the following problems/difficulties:

Acrobat Reader does not allow you to save the information that you enter into the text fields. Therefore, if you close the program, all of the information that you entered will be lost. If you are filling out the application electronically, you should be prepared to do it in one sitting or be able to keep the program open until you are finished. Please note that if your computer crashes, all of the information will be lost. However, if you are using Adobe's product called Acrobat, this will allow you to save a copy of the PDF file and make permanent changes to text fields. You can obtain more information about Acrobat Reader and Acrobat from the Adobe website.

It may be possible to enter text that can exceed the visible boundaries of the fields. Please be sure that all of the text that you type within each field is visible following printing.

Also, note that you can use the PDF version to print out a hard copy of this application and fill in the fields on the hard copy. For either method, we recommend that you prepare the research proposal part of the application with your word processing program.

Please read the Application Guidelines carefully for instructions on how to complete the research plan section.

You cannot use earlier years' forms for the 2008 competition. We urge all applicants to download the current application materials. Previous years' application forms will not be accepted. These cost-savings go directly into our research budget.
