Memorial or Honor Gifts

A memorial gift made to the American Health Assistance Foundation or one its three programs is a testimonial to the meaningfulness of a life that has passed on. An honor gift is a loving way to remember someone still living or a special occasion.

The American Health Assistance Foundation recognizes the heartfelt tribute that these gifts are donated with, and we have provided opportunities for such contributions. These are truly caring ways to honor those you love and hold dear to your heart, as well as making an investment in the lives of those who remain behind.

Honor gifts are a special way to acknowledge the important people living in your life. Honor gifts are often given on special occasions, such as a friend's or relative's birthday, graduation, or anniversary. They are also appropriate gifts for holidays like Christmas, Hanukkah, Mother's Day, and Father's Day. Finally, Honor gifts are often given to show appreciation for someone's kindness or to recognize their impact on your life.

Memorial gifts and Honor gifts, like all donations to AHAF, can be given by mail, online credit card donation, or by phone. Donors should be sure to indicate that their contribution is a memorial gift or honor gift and include the name(s) of those being memorialized or honored. Donors should also be sure to provide the names and addresses of anyone who they wish to receive an acknowledgment of their donation. If making this donation online, include this information in the "Gift Information" section of the online form.

When a Memorial or Honor gift is received by AHAF, a letter is sent to the donor to acknowledge the gift, as well as to any persons that the donor indicates should receive an acknowledgment card. This may include the family of the deceased or the person being honored, informing them of your kindness. The card will show the name of the person being memorialized or honored and the name of the donor or donors. (The amount of the gift is not revealed).

If a large accumulation of Memorial or Honor gifts are received recognizing the same person(s), a special letter will be sent to the family informing them of all of the donations received, in order to help them with their record keeping. The American Health Assistance Foundation is especially proud of its Honor and Memorial program. We know how important it is that our loved ones be remembered and honored, and this program helps us to thank those who contribute through unselfish acts of kindness.

Donations to the American Health Assistance Foundation are tax-deductible under the Internal Revenue Code of the Internal Revenue Service for computing income and estate taxes. The American Health Assistance Foundation is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization.
